D2R Handlebar Bag

Riding a fully loaded touring bike is a lot like driving a truck, and the D2R handlebar bag makes a worthy dashboard. With its waterproof map sleeve, beverage pockets, and large bucket-like interior, it keeps all your quick-access items securely in front of you.

Our 2014 updates include a rider-opposite opening and wider map sleeve (accommodates Adventure Cycling maps!)

• Water-resistant map sleeve
• Water bottle pockets on each side
• Front pocket with key clip
• Interior mesh zip pocket and small slip pocket
• Shoulder strap
• Rain cover

This is my 3rd Detours handlebar bag. I bought this D2R soon after buying a Sodo, which was a disappointment (see my review). Detours listened to bicycle tourist input, and got it right on this D2R with the great map case and opening toward the rider. The side pockets work well and don't interfere with the lid. Since I get in and out of my handlebar bag often to use a camera, my only complaint is the inferior zipper pulls, which are small strips of folded nylon webbing that aren't easy to grip. I took the nicer zipper pulls from my Sodo bag and put them on the D2R to solve the problem. And to make it better yet, I am hoping to come up with an interior compartment like the one on my old Leto Detours bag that functioned like a built-in camera case. With those changes, the D2R would have nailed it for me.
